What To Keep In Mind When Searching For A Baby Friendly Home!

If you are looking for a new home to fit your growing family, here are some key tips to finding a baby-friendly house.

  1. Don’t Rush to Buy – Just because you are expecting, does not mean you have to purchase a new home right away. Babies do not need much space. Take your time and find a home that is right for you and your new family.
  2. Prioritize the Neighborhood – Quite a few expecting parents think that they will sell their home by the time their children begin school, so they don’t consider school districts. Think about the long term because 5 years goes by fast and you might not be in the right place to purchase another home. Buying a home in a smaller neighborhood within a good school district will help your piece of mind and also the resale value.
  3. Look Hard at the Layout – Take the time to look at the space you will be living in as a family.  There are quite a few homes on the market that have first level master bedrooms. Keep in mind that you might be having to run up and down the stairs in the middle of the night for children that are sleeping on the second floor.
  4. Inspect Carefully – You might be in love with a house, but there could be significant problems that you are missing because of the way that the house looks. To find out if the house has been well maintained, you will want to hire a good inspector to check the roof, electrical system, exterior and possible termite damage. If the home was built before 1978, make sure that it is thoroughly inspected for lead.

I hope these tips will help you in your house hunting adventures!!

Happy house hunting!!!
